CHURCH: The State of the Church today
Six Megathemes Emerge from Barna Group Research in 2010
December 13, 2010
Change usually happens slowly in the Church. But a review of the past year's research conducted by the Barna Group provides a time-lapse portrayal of how the religious environment in the U.S. is morphing into something new.

Why taking verses out of context is one of the most dangerous things we can do.
Though the Bible in its original form is inerrant, our interpretation of it is not. Being in a position of trying to understand God's word is an intense place to stand. How we think about the Bible affects how we think about it applying to our lives.
Though all of us carry that responsibility differently, the weight of seeking to translate the message and the meaning of the story of God requires a sober assessment of what we’re actually reading. And especially how we apply it to our lives

CHURCH: 10 Characteristics of Growing Churches
#1 – They have leaders that lead!
“For God so loved the world that He did not send a committee!” Not sure where I heard that…but its true!
#2 – A desperation for God’s power!
Prayer isn’t a good luck charm that is attached at the beginning or at the end of something…people are legitimately desperate for the power of God. They pray Habakkuk 3:2 prayers every day and…
#3 – They believe that greater things are in store.

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT: Christian Sinners?
This is one of the hardest questions I've ever encountered. Check out Mark Driscoll's answer to this. We need to constantly pray and search what our deepest desires are.
